The US House of Representatives passed a bill to tighten up the use of drones from DJI in the US, banning the use of DJI-manufactured drones in the US communications infrastructure, according to foreign media.

However, the bill would not prohibit the continued use of existing DJI drones in the US. The bill needs to be approved by the US Senate before it could become law.

DJI, which accounts for more than half of the US drone market, objected to the bill, and said that it would impose a ban solely on the basis of origin and restrict the ability of US drone operators to buy and use appropriate equipment.

The US Congress also approved a bill prohibiting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) from purchasing batteries from 6 Chinese companies, including CATL.

The US House of Representatives is also expected to vote later this week on banning Chinese-made content from EVs that can enjoy the US EV tax credits.
