Tse Chin Wan, Hong Kong's Secretary for Environment and Ecology, will depart for Lima, Peru, tonight (13 August) to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Energy Ministerial Meeting (EMM) on Thursday (15 August) and Friday (16 August).

During the two-day meeting, energy ministers or their representatives from 20 APEC member economies will discuss topics such as the promotion of energy transition in the region and hydrogen development, including discussions on how to use innovative strategies and technologies to ensure a fair and sustainable energy transition, as well as challenges faced by member economies in formulating and implementing the strategy of hydrogen development.

During his stay in Peru, Tse will have bilateral meetings with representatives from other APEC member economies to exchange views on strengthening co-operation on issues such as energy transition, decarbonisation and hydrogen development.
