The key figures in the US Silicon Valley tech scene made political donations to Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump, Financial Times reported.

America Pac, a pro-Trump political action committee, reportedly raised more than USD8.7 million since its inception in June, with donors including Sequoia Capital co-founder Doug Leone and partner Shaun Maguire, Valor Equity co-founder Antonio Gracias, and Palantir (PLTR.US)      co-founder Joe Lonsdale.

In addition, US tycoon Elon Musk, who publicly endorsed Trump on social media platform X, is reportedly planning to make a donation too. Venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz also informed its employees that it will support Trump.

Silicon Valley is considered one of the most liberal areas in the US, but some tech industry leaders are dissatisfied with President Joe Biden's regulatory and tax stances, and their political leanings shifted to the right. Trump, on the other hand, pledged to protect free speech and support the cryptocurrency industry.
