BIDU-SW to Launch New Ver. of Foundation Model Early Next Yr, Says Robin Li

BIDU-SW (09888.HK) (BIDU.US) Chairman and CEO Robin Li revealed during the 3Q24 results call that Baidu will release a new version of the ERNIE foundation model early next year to strengthen its leading position in foundational models. As of November, the ERNIE foundation model had an average of 1.5 billion daily calls, processing over 1.7 trillion tokens of text daily, Li said. This marked a 30-fold increase from a daily average of 50 million calls disclosed a year ago. Li also mentioned that Baidu App's AI features now cover nearly 70% of its monthly active users, and users engaging with AI are spending more time on the app, with total daily interactions soaring to tens of millions.
