In the past few hours, Man-yi continued to track west across the northern part of the South China Sea and weakened, according to the announcement made by the Hong Kong Observatory (HKO). Man-yi is now closest to the territory, skirting within about 400 kilometers to the south of Hong Kong.

Its associated rainbands are affecting the coast of Guangdong. Locally, rain will be more frequent at times today. Under the combined effect of Man-yi and northeast monsoon, there will be occasional strong northerly winds offshore and on high ground locally today.

The Standby Signal, No. 1 will remain in force at least until 10:00 pm today.
